Raised in San Antonio, TX to a military family, James attended college in Texas and Oklahoma on academic and performance scholarships. Described as "tall, dark, and dashingly handsome" by the lady at the local grocery store, James' striking combination of Korean and German looks have been seen in numerous film, television, and theatre productions, most recently in the OSCAR winning "AMERICAN SNIPER" as Navy SEAL, Petty Officer Karnan, starring Bradley Cooper & directed by Clint Eastwood.
In Boston he received critical acclaim starring as Tom in the New England premiere of Neil Labute's "Fat Pig" and had the good fortune to work with famed stage directors Robert Woodruff & Nicholas Martin. A veteran of over a dozen productions of Shakespeare, James has also achieved success in LA, having worked on several film and television projects, including "Anger Management," "The Mentalist," "NCIS: Los Angeles," "How I Met Your Mother," "General Hospital" & "Body of Proof."
Handpicked as 1 of only 12 actors selected for the 2011 ABC Diversity Showcase from a pool of 2000, James had the amazing opportunity to work directly with ABC executives over a lengthy audition process, fast-tracking these actors for future roles in ABC & Disney film and television projects.
Disney has already taken note of James' unique ability to handle drama, comedy, and action, having cast James in guest starring roles on "Kickin' It," "Zeke & Luther," and their new series "Mighty Med."
When not acting, James can usually be found at the gym or at the range, where he serves as a certified firearms and tactics instructor.
